How to make it

  • Brown beef on all sides in skillet.
  • Place vegetables in bottom of slow cooker crock.
  • Place browned beef on top of vegetables.
  • Pour stock over all.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  • Remove beef; cover to keep warm.
  • Strain liquid into saucepan.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Mix milk and flour in a shaker.
  • Add to boiling liquid and stir until gravy is desired consistency.

    Wonderful recipe! I wanted a recipe that didn't use canned soup or onion soup mix and this was ideal. I used a rump roast and it cooked up tender soft and perfect. I had my doubts about making a gravy with just milk, flour, and the stock from the pot but it too was fabulous! I only wanted to make a enough gravy for our meal and used 2 T. flour, 1 T. milk, and one cup of stock.

    Really simple to prepare and delicious .AS you said really the smell was all around for the whole day.I am going to prepare it every weekend.
