Help searching Groups

  • lovebreezy 15 years ago
I'm hoping one of you can help me get around GR a little better. I wanted to search for certain groups and don't know how. When I click on the main GROUPS icon (in the upper green part of the screen) a page comes up where all the groups are listed. There are like 80 pages of them and I don't want to have to go through all of them. Is there a place where I can do a search for either a paticular group and/or part of a group's name? (e.g. Just putting in the word CHEESE would bring up all the groups with the word cheese in the title.) On that same Groups page is a search box, but when I type something in there it just flashes and stayes on the same page. Help, someone!

When you do a search in the search box on the groups page, make sure sure you use your mouse pointer to click on search and don't just hit the "enter" key...it seems to make difference...hope this helps.

The groups search feature leaves alot to be desired...as greekgirrl says above, clicking on the search button works much better than hitting enter.

Hi Lovebreezy! I just typed in "cheese" and the fork was flashing...then it gave me 5 groups with the word cheese in the title. When you see the fork flashing after you click "search" that means its searching. If there are no groups... the fork won't flash... it will just say something like, "no such group exsists". If you can give a more specific title it helps the search. This site is kind of wacky most times and isn't always working properly...so it could just be a glitch. Hope this helps! Good luck with your search!

My problem withthe group searching is that I want to see the groups that I am a member of. When I go to my stuff and hit groups nothing happens. the computer just freezes. Does anyone else have that problem?

That does happen to me sometimes also. When that happens I click "view your recipe page" then I scroll down to my groups section and I click the refresh button on my tool bar. Everytime you hit the refresh button it scrolls through the groups I belong to.

GG It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh thank you so very much. I am thinking of starting another group (I already started the VELVEETA group), but didn't want to start another one if a like one already existed. I've been fighting this for weeks -- changing security settings, rebooting, trying another computer... Thank you all for your feed back. Now if I could just figure out how to delete some of my photos... - - - - Thanks again all.
