Hi Polly! Great idea for a group. Thanks!
I have an idea for all of you watching the calories. If a recipe calls for cream, you can get the same flavor by adding a dash of nutmeg to 1 cup of 1% milk. I use it mostly for sauces.

    Hello there Diana,
I'm so glad you love this group because we love you too!

In regards to the cream subsitute, what I use hands down is evaporated milk and you can buy the skim versions which is great. Even the regular is less "buttery" than standard cream.
My grandmother swore by the stuff and put it in her coffee which was always Nescaffe. Now, whenever I think about the good times we had or want to feel like she's close by I just make some Nescaffe and put evaporated milk in it!

Try the evaporated milk for cream subsitute. I never buy cream. In my coffee I usually use Fat Free Vanilla Creamer and I like it a lot. I can't tell the difference and when I make coffee for my mom etc... she can't tell the difference.

    How's that?
