Have you ever tried opening a pressure cooker without releasing the pressure first ?

    I HAVE!..................BIIIIIIG MISTAKE.

The good side is that it is a very easy way to paint the Kitchen

I'll never forget the first time my mom got a pressure cooker and used it. Everyone said-careful, it'll explode and so she was kind of nervous and I remember her looking at what it was doing from the behind the door between the sitting room and the kitchen with her safety glasses on from about 12 feet away! Mind you she did have an eruption too but that was years later. What a mess!

LOL! I have two pressure cookers that I inherited from my mother-in-law. I'm scared to death to use them because I tend to drink when I cook. Actually, I drink even when I'm NOT cooking. This is Wisconsin! It's the LAW!

Anyone ever try "broasted chicken" in a pressure cooker?

Mbalmer - that is precisely why I have never wanted a pressure cooker - all of your reasons above show why I definitely do not need to have this sort of thing in my kitchen.... I can see I would make a huggggge mess...lol

My husband does the pressure cooking in this house! I've just never learned how to use it. Maybe one of these days. I like my steamer - and my greens turn out just as good as his, but healthier I think. He always adds sausage or bacon, while I like to make a vinegar dressing, or something with mustard on greens. Yum! I almost can't wait for my fall garden now!!!
