What kind of box do you have?

I have gone through all types and have finally settled on my favorite to date. Maybe it's because I am getting old and can't see those litte recipe cards anymore! I am using an old metal file box my parents had - it was labeled files for 1967. I print all my recipes on 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper and file in folders - I actually need more folders for more detailed sections. I take out the recipe I want and put into a protective sleave. I can wipe off the plastic and the paper doesn't get ruined. If it does, then I can just reprint another copy. I can also easily e-mail requested recipes out with the software I am using to organize my recipes.

Sounds like a neat box, have any pictures? I plan to take some of mine eventually. I use a Hershey's Chocolate box that I purchased from Cracker Barrel that came with 99 recipe cards. I just decided to toss my deserts into that box. I have a matching set of box and book from my mother for a birthday years ago. For the book I store my bread recipes, and with the box - and another wooden one - I put general recipes. I recently acquired another I may end up filling up. I print onto index cards as well and am in the process of downsizing and condensing, printing on backs, and getting rid of the bulky folded recipes that take up too much room by typing them over.

I have a wooden box with seashells that my husband bought for me just before we married 23 years ago.
I also have a metal breadbox from my Great Grandmother with lots of handwritten recipes and clippings from magazines and newspapers printed before I was born!
They are both precious to me.
