I've been making this for 30 years. Have no idea what the origin was but it's been one of our favorites for a long time.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 14 oz. ketchup
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions
  1. Brown meat and onions. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until mostly absorbed. Serve on buns and enjoy.
