Bacon Dressing Recipe

Bacon Dressing Recipe
Another Amish recipe, though here, you can buy it off the shelf in any store. This is amazing as a cole slaw dressing.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 lb. bacon
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 t. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. cider vinegar
  • 2 c. water
  • 3 1/2 T. flour
  • 4 T. water

Directions
  1. Fry the bacon, reserve the drippings (just not for this recipe), drain, and crumble. Don't wipe out the pan.
  2. Mix the sugar, salt, eggs, vinegar and 2 c. water. Heat the pan you cooked the bacon in and bring to a boil. Mix the flour and water together, then mix into the pan, and stir until the dressing thickens. Add the crumbled bacon. Serve over any salad, but excellent for cole slaw.

Fantastic salad dressing recipe! Husband will love it. Thanks for posting it.

Sounds good, will bookmark it to try.

WOW!!! We love bacon!!!!!! Does the flavor of the bacon come through? This sounds fantastic!!

I have seen something similar poured over sliced boiled potatoes for a quick potatoe salad. Tastes good hot or cold.
