Mission Inns Tomato Basil Soup

- 8 oz tomato puree shopping list
- 8 oz diced tomatoes shopping list
- 1 tablespoon dry basil shopping list
- 1 quart water shopping list
- 16 oz heavy cream shopping list
- 1 tablespoon corn Starch shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- Fresly ground pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 4 oz freshly grated Parmesan - Recipe noted to use only good quality freshly grated parmesan. Parmesan in the round box is too salty and does not give the creamy texture needed to achieve the soup's desired consistancy. shopping list
How to make it
- In a large saucepan over high heat compine tomato puree, diced tomatoes, basil and water. Boil mixture 30 minutes.
- Stir cornstarch into a little bit of the tomato mixture to dissolve. Pour cornstarch mixture into saucepan.
- Stir in cream and salt and pepper.
- Stir in sugar and cheese

I already make a soup like this. I use individual ovenproof soup bowls, Cover with the Garlic toast and sprinkle with cheese...great post!
