Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat griddle fairly hot (perhaps 400 degrees)
  • Mix a small amount of soy sauce and sesame oil in a small prep bowl (to make more zesty, add a little lemon juice or chili paste)
  • Cook onions and peppers on un-oiled griddle until just starting to char
  • Leave onions and peppers on griddle but move aside
  • Add sesame oil (its OK if some spreads into peppers and onions)
  • Add beef to oiled griddle
  • Immediately sprinkle sesame seeds on beef and press lightly with spatula to get them to stick
  • Immediately flip beef (should not be cooking longer than 30-45 seconds)
  • Turn off griddle and add more sesame seeds
  • Add soy sauce mixture to plate and add chopped scallions
  • Immediately move beef on top of the sauce
  • Add onions and peppers on top of beef

Sounds good; I love the flavor of sesame oil! I'm going to sub. some worcestershire for the soy because of my intollerance to it!.. :)

milanese is just a real thin cut. what's nice about it is that it cooks super fast and if you're not a fan of beef that seems chewy (even if it is cooked properly) then you might like this because each bite is so thin. Not like sticking a wad of beef in your mouth. In this case, it is just cooked on the griddle for like 30 seconds on each side.

    This may read simplistic..but,

    May I ask,please?

Is the milanese beef fried,or braised,or an Italian beef of sorts?

    You have me curious.

I have not made this particular meat before,to my knowledge.

I would be interested in the type of way in which it is prepared.

    Thank-you

    Kind Regards
