DATE WALNUT BREAD MAS 40 YEAR OLD RECIPE

- Ingredients: shopping list
- 2 ¾ cup flour shopping list
- ½ tsp. salt shopping list
- 2 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 ½ cups of boiling water shopping list
- 2 Tbs. margarine or butter shopping list
- 1 ¾ cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped shopping list
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 16-oz Pkg. pitted dates shopping list
How to make it
- 1)Preheat oven to 325
- 2)Grease and lightly flour a 9” x 5”-inch loaf pan. Set aside.
- 3)Soak date in the 1 ½ cups of boiling water with the margarine for 20 minutes.
- 4)In a large bowl add eggs and sugar beat.
- 5)Add the following ingredients one at a time mixing thoroughly, date mixture, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nuts and vanilla.
- 6)Pour into the prepared loaf pan.
- 7)Bake at 325 for approx. 1 hour, or until a tooth pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 8)Cool in pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Turn out on wire rack to cool another 5 minutes.
- 9)Ready to serve.
