  • 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1/2 c packed lt. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 c flour1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 c pecans (7oz.) toasted,cooled and chopped
  • 1 c flour

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees with racks in upper and lower thirds.
  2. Heat butter in a 10" heavy skillet over medium heat til milk solids on bottom are a dark chocolate brown.
  3. Transfer to a shallow bowl and chill in freezer until just congealed,about 15 mins.
  4. Blend brown butter with sugars,flour,baking soda,salt and eggs in a food processor till smooth. Transfer to a bowl and stir in pecans.
  5. Spoon ablespoons of batter onto parchment-lined baking sheets,arranging about 1" apart.
  6. Bake,switching positions of sheets halfway through,till browned,15 to 18 mins. Transfer cookies to a rack to cool (cookies will crisp as they cool.
