Chocolate Walnut Toffee Candy Recipe
An easy toffee recipe that comes from one of those Nestle Morsel recipe handouts. Prep time does not include chill time.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups (12-ounce pkg)Nestle Semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Directions
  1. Heat butter and sugar in a medium-size, heavy saucepan to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Boil for 6 minutes or until golden colored, stirring constantly.
  3. Pour into buttered 9-inch square baking pan. Let stand for 3 minutes or until top begins to firm.
  4. Sprinkle with 1 cup morsels over candy. Let stand for 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny; spread chocolate over surface.
  5. Sprinkle 1/2 cup walnuts over chocolate; press down slightly.
  6. Chill for 15 minutes or until chocolate is firm.
  7. Invert candy onto waxed paper-lined tray.
  8. Microwave remaining cup of morsels in a small microwave-safe bowl on High (100%) power for one minute, stir. Microwave for an additional 10 to 20 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  9. Remove any excess moisture from candy surface. Spread chocolate over candy.
  10. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts; press down slightly. Chill until firm.
  11. Break into bite-size pieces.
  12. Store in the refrigerator.
