How to make it

  • Cut up the bacon into little 1/2 inch squares and fry in skillet.
  • Add the beef and fry that with the bacon until it is browned.
  • Drain the 4 cans of beans and add with tomatoes to a pot.
  • Simmer the mix with the onions and green peppers for 2 mins.
  • Add the drained beef and bacon mixture to the pot with habanero.
  • Simmer for about an hour, then add the sugar if you want it cooler.
  • Simmer for another hour or until it looks & smells too good to wait.

    Oh my! I've often thought about using bacon in chili. As it is, I usually add a tablespoon or so of the crumbly bacon grease (filled with the brown bits) just for flavor when starting up the crockpot. Great recipe here...--Kn0x--
