Raisin Sour Cream Pie Recipe
I plan on making this delicious sounding pie one of my Thanksgiving offerings this year. This recipe is courtesy of Gigi from northpole.com.

Ingredients
  • Baked 8-inch pie shell
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup seedless raisins
  • 1 to 1 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Directions
  1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and spices.
  2. Blend in egg yolks.
  3. Add sour cream, raisins, and lemon juice.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
  5. Cool, then stir in walnuts.
  6. Pour into pie shell.
  7. Beat egg whites on high speed, until peaks form.
  8. Top pie with meringue and bake in 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until meringue is slightly browned.

My mother's favorite pie is rasin and you just don't find them in stores. This is a little different than I have done for her before (sour cream). I'm saving it for her birthday.

Here's one of my grandmothers specials. She didn't do meringue - whipped cream on top! Yes, this would be a different treat for Thanksgiving. Thanks Janice for the inspiration.
