Sweet Potato Chowder Recipe
My family loves this recipe. I think I got it out of a magazine a while back. I occasionally add corn to the soup when I remember. This is a family favorite

Ingredients
  • 1 celery rib, chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 2 tsp chicken bouillion in 2 cups of water
  • 4 medium potatos, peeled and cubed
  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed
  • 2 cups fully cooked ham
  • 2 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk

Directions
  1. Saute celery in butter until tender.
  2. Stir in broth, water & bouillion
  3. Add potatos, ham and seasonings
  4. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 12 mins or until potatos are tender
  5. Combined flour and milk until smooth, gradually stir into soup
  6. Bring to a boil, cook for a few more minutes until thick and bubbly.
  7. Serve with hot corn bread or rolls
