- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 6 tablespoons (3/4) very soft butter shopping list
- 1 tablespoon melted butter shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 1 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 8 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup honey shopping list
- 1/2 cup heavy cream shopping list
- ¾ cup pecans shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 1/3 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup white sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Combine yeast and water into a large mixer or bowl and let stand for five minutes.Mix by hand or on low speed until blended.
- Mix in cake flour, sugar, salt, eggs, milk and vanilla.
- Add in flour and mix for about 1 minute or until dough comes together.
- Knead by hand for about 10 minutes or with dough hook on low to medium speed for about 5 to 7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic and no longer sticks to your hands or the bowl.
- Vigorously knead in the butter with hands or dough hook until completely incorporated and the dough is once again smooth. (Dough should be some-what sticky)
- Place the dough in a large buttered bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour and 30 min.
- Punch down the dough, knead briefly, and refrigerate, covered, until doubled again, 4 to 5 hours.
- Combine sauce mixture into a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in pecans. Pour the hot syrup into a buttered 13 x 9in. baking pan. Spread evenly.
- Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a 16 x 12in. rectangle. Brush the dough with melted butter. Combine filling mixture in small bowl and sprinkle over rolled out dough.
- Starting from the long side, roll up the dough as you would a jelly or cinnamon roll. Cut crosswise into 8 - 10 slices and put into pan with sauce. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Pre-heat oven to 350 and bake sticky buns for 30 mins. When buns are finished, place a cookie sheet on top of pan and flip over. The gooey sauce should be on the top. Eat and enjoy!
