Orange Buttermilk Salad Recipe

Ingredients

1 reg package orange jello (3 oz)

1 8 oz crushed pineapple

1 cup buttermilk

1 cool whip (8 oz)

pecans (optional)

Directions

Heat pineapple with juice until hot; dissolve jello in this mixture.

Let cool.

Add buttermilk and cool whip to this mixture.

Mix throughly.

Cool in refrigerator until set.

I made this last week, and it was excellent! I've never been one for jello salads, but this sounded so intriguing with the buttermilk that I had to try it. I only added half the Cool Whip; I tried it without the pecans, but we missed them, so next time I'll add them.

Made this again (doubled) with
3oz peach jello plus 3oz tropical jello
8oz pineapple and 4oz peaches
2 C buttermilk
6oz Cool Whip
and topped with 3oz maraschino cherries and 2-3 T chopped pecans, just for pretty.
It was eaten immediately!
