How to make it

  • Layers potatoes, mushrooms, onion, celery, carrots tomato paste, salt, sugar,pepper, garlic and bay leaf in crockpot
  • Dredge meat in flour with salt and pepper
  • Heat oil in skilltet and brown meat on all sides, turning frequently
  • Add meat to crockpot
  • Pour ale and broth over all
  • Cover and cook low about 7 1/2 hours or meat is tender
  • discard bay leaf
  • thicken sauce if desired
  • My note : I would probably add more venison to this recipe!!!

    This sounds wonderful! My son went bow hunting a few weeks ago and came home with a deer. I was thinking of something with venison for Sunday dinner. Now I know exactly how to fix it.
