My husband loves this dish. It's heavy all by itself, but goes well with salad and "Southern" vegetables.

Ingredients
  • 2-1/2 lbs. ground round
  • 1 cup onion
  • 2 packs taco seasoning
  • 8 oz. tomato paste
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1/2 can Mexicorn
  • Dash chili powder
  • 10 slices cheese
  • 15-20 "whop" biscuits (canned biscuits)

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 325.
  2. Brown beef with onion and 1 pack taco seasoning.
  3. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, Mexicorn, 2nd pack of taco seasoning, and chili powder.
  4. Spray 3 qt. glass or enamel casserole dish with Pam.
  5. Pour half of meat mixture into dish; place 4 slices of cheese on top in a diagonal pattern.
  6. Spread other half of meat mixture on first two layers; place 6 slices of cheese on top in diagonal pattern.
  7. Place whop biscuits on top of pie.
  8. Bake 30-40 minutes.
