Easy Spanish Rice

- 1 cup uncooked regular rice shopping list
- 1/2 cup onion chopped shopping list
- 2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups water shopping list
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper chopped fine shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chili powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
- Optional: shopping list
- 6 chicken thighs OR 3 chicken breasts (halved) par cooked and ready shopping list
How to make it
- If using chicken - par cook and set aside
- Cook rice and onion in 10" skillet over medium heat about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is golden brown and onion is tender
- Stir in remaining ingredients
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat. Add chick if using
- Cover and simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.
- Remove from heat for 5 minutes. Serve.
