Ingredients

How to make it

  • 1.Melt your butter into a 4 quart pot and sautee the onion and celery until they begin to soften.
  • 2. Add pepper and flour to create a heavy coating/paste.
  • 3. Add broth slowly (I like 2 cups at a time) while stirring, bring to a boil.
  • 4. Add carrots, Bay Leaf, and Chicken-substitute.
  • 5. Mix and add Dumplings (see below), reduce heat and let simmer 15 minutes.
  • Dumplings
  • Mix dry ingredients (Flour, Baking Powder, & Salt) well. Add Milk & Oil to moisten dough. Roll by hand into 1 1/2" balls.

    i've been reading the book"Eating Animals". excellent. But, I've never tried chicken substitute. I'm going to get some today. I plan to cut back on meat and know where it came from.
