How to make it

  • In a large bowl mix the masa harina, baking powder, oil and cool water
  • Kneads dough several times and wrap in plastic
  • Divide dough into 16 pieces
  • Faltten each into a 3 inch disc
  • Sprinkle feta over 8 dsics
  • Top with remaining discs and seal to enclose cheese and shape into patties
  • Heat 1/4 inch of oil in skillet and cook arepas med high heat, turning once until golden about 6 to 7 minutes
  • Drain on paper toweling and serve
