- The Cake: shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 1 Pkg yellow cake mix (duncan hines butter recipe) shopping list
- 1 pkg orange gelatin shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- The Filling: shopping list
- 6 oz frozen coconut shopping list
- 2 cups sour cream shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup orange juice shopping list
- The Frosting: shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Cake:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine cake mix, gelatin, milk, butter, and eggs in mixing bowl; mix well.
- Pour into three greased and floured 9 inch round cake pans.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until cake tests done.
- Cool for 10 minutes (wire racks)
- Filling:
- Combine sour cream, sugar, orange juice, and coconut in mixing bowl.
- Set aside one cup of mixture.
- Spread remaining mixture between cake layers.
- Frosting:
- Beat cream until stiff peaks form;add vanilla and sugar.
- Fold in remainer of filling. Spread on cake.
- Garnish with coconut.
