Mint and Garbanzo Rice

- mint and Garbanzo rice shopping list
- Ingredients: shopping list
- 1 cup - basmati rice/long grain rice (washed and soaked in water for about 30 mins) shopping list
- 1/2 to 3/4 bunch - fresh mint leaves, chopped finely shopping list
- 1/2 cup - Garbanzo(soak overnight and pressure cook until done) shopping list
- 1 to 2 tsp - ghee/butter shopping list
- 1/2 tsp - red chili powder pwd shopping list
- 1/2 tsp - turmeric shopping list
- 3 tbsp - coriander pwd shopping list
- 1 tsp – cumin pwd shopping list
- 2 tsp – garam masala pwd shopping list
- 3 onions – finely chopped shopping list
- ginger – garlic paste shopping list
- Khada masala (cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, Star Aniseed, bay leaves) shopping list
- 1 tsp - lemon juice shopping list
- salt as per taste shopping list
How to make it
- Method;
- Fry Khada masala in oil and then fry Ginger / garlic paste.
- Add Onions and fry until translucent
- Add other masalas and mint leaves with garbanzo.
- Do not OVER fry the above. Remove from heat BEFORE mint changes colour.
- Cook Rice separately.
- Add rice and Lemon juice to the mint/garbanzo masala and mix well
- Garnish with Coriander leaves.
- Tips:
- Add grated beetroot to the mint/garbanzo masala and make your meal IRON rich.
