Greco Inspired Turkey Burgers
From jondanger 16 years agoIngredients
- 20 oz. ground turkey meat shopping list
- 8 oz. Greek style yogurt (go for the fat free, it tastes just as good) shopping list
- 1 clove finely chopped garlic shopping list
- 1 tsp. sweet paprika shopping list
- 1 tsp. oregano shopping list
- 1.5 tbsp. chopped fresh dill shopping list
- 2 oz. Crumbled feta cheese (low fat feta is preferable) shopping list
- 1 pinch salt and pepper shopping list
- 4 Multi-grain or whole wheat pitas shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the yogurt, garlic, paprika, oregano, dill, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a large bowl. Reserve about a third of this mixture to top off your burger later on. Mix the turkey meat with the remaining 2/3 of the yogurt. Form the meat into 4 patties and place on a hot grill or in a preheated skillet.
- Allow the burgers to cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side, before melting a touch of feta cheese on top. Grill pitas if desired. Now, stuff your pita with the turkey-feta burger, a dollop of the reserved yogurt, and any of your burger must haves. Just add lettuce and tomatoes, or run wild with the Greek theme and add Kalamata olives, cucumbers, and lemon zest.
