Italian Sausage Subs

- 1 tbsp olive oil shopping list
- 1 green pepper, sliced shopping list
- 1 medium onion, sliced shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 pkg. Italian sausages, I like to use spicy shopping list
- 1 14.5 oz can whole peeled tomatoes shopping list
- 1 12oz bottle beer or ale shopping list
- 1 tbsp italian seasoning shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cumin shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 1 teaspoon chili powder shopping list
- Hoagie buns shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet
- Saute peppers and onion until onions are translucent
- Add garlic, sausages, beer and spices
- Cook on medium heat until beer reduces by half
- Puree tomatoes in a blender and add after the beer has been reduced
- Cover and simmer on low for 20 minutes or until sausages are cooked through
- If too much liquid evaporates, add a little water or tomato juice to pan
- Serve on Hoagie buns
