Suss-saures Rotkraut Sweet-and-sour Red Cabbage

- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 4 granny smith apples, Med., Peel, Slice shopping list
- 1/2 onion, Red, Chopped shopping list
- 1 red cabbage, Head,Fine Shred shopping list
- 1 C red wine shopping list
- 4 cloves, Whole shopping list
- 1/3 C brown sugar shopping list
- 2 bay leaves shopping list
- 1/4 C vinegar shopping list
- 1/4 C butter shopping list
- juice form 1 meduim lemon shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter in 4-quart Dutch oven.
- Add apples and onions, saute slightly.
- Add finely shredded cabbage, red wine, cloves, sugar, and bay leaves.
- Simmer, covered, for 1 hour, then add the remaining ingredients. Heat to melt the butter and serve immediately.
