Avocado Topped Steak Tacos

- 1/4 c extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1-1/2 tsp chili powder shopping list
- 1 lb skirt steak,halved crosswise shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
- 2 jalapeno chilies,finely chopped shopping list
- Grated peel and juice of 2 lemons shopping list
- 1 head butter lettuce,shredded shopping list
- 2 avocados,halved,pitted and cut in small cubes shopping list
- 1/2 onion,thinly sliced shopping list
- 12 taco shells shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat grill pan over med-high heat. Whisk together 1 Tbs oil and the chili powder,then rub all over the steak;season with salt and pepper.
- Add to grill pan and cook,turning once,until grill marks appear,about 5 mins. for med-rare
- Transfer to cutting board,let rest 10 mins before thinly slicing across the grain.
- Meanwhile,in med. bowl,combine jalapenos,lime peel,lime juice and remaining 3 Tbs olive oil;season with salt and pepper.
- Add onions,lettuce and avocados and toss;season with salt and pepper.
- Divide half of the avocado salad among the taco shells,topping with the meat and remaining avocado salad.
