How to make it

  • Peel and thinly slice raw potatoes
  • . Butter a casserole or pyrex dish. Spread the bottom evenly with a layer of potatoes, and season with salt, pepper, butter, a bit of onion chopped fine, if desired; sprinkle with a little flour.
  • Follow with another layer of potatoes, onion, and seasoning.
  • Continue layering potatoes until the dish is filled.
  • For extra color and flavor, potatoes may be sprinkled with parsley, bread crumbs tossed in melted butter, with a dusting of paprika on top.
  • Bake at 350 for one hour or til potatoes are done.
