    Well, howdy neighbor! ;) You probably could use chorizo - especially in this area we usually don't see the Mexican Chorizo, which is different than the Spanish/Portuguese. I mean, it would be a different dish, but still tasty!

    This sounds so incredibly comforting...Do you think chorizo would work?

    I never knew you were from MA....I live in Marlborough...My son goes to Quinsigamond and manages the Papa Johns in Worcester...

    Thanks for commenting jlv1023! I'll check and see if there's a place around here that might sell it online - I thought I saw something once. When I moved to central MA, I couldn't even find any at first, but this past year I've seen it everywhere - even in regular grocery stores. I can't really think of a good sub, though! I'll let you know if I can find a good source for you ;)

    Thanks Rhianna! Actually we're not Portuguese at all but used to spend our summers in and around New Bedford, MA where there are a lot of Portuguese, so we love the food, music, people...I almost married one! ;)

    Love linguica, but out here in the Midwest, they have no clue what this is. Being from Connecticut I miss going to the Portuguese markets, any suggestions for substitute or where on line I can find i t?

    So great to see an authentic Portuguese recipe! Is your family Portuguese, Christine? I'll try this when I next have linguiça. Thanks!

    Pronunciation tip for those who don't know Portuguese (the c actually has a cedilla - ç - underneath, making the c sound soft like an "s":

    Linguiça = leen-GWEE-sah

    FOIL PACKET INSTRUCTIONS: Spray foil with cooking spray and wrap ingredients, using just a drizzle of oil, in foil packets. Cook on grill for about 20 minutes or in the oven at 350 degrees, until potatoes are tender.
