How to make it

  • Cut watermelon into pieces and place in a saucepan over stove.
  • Cook uncovered over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until melon is the consistency of applesauce (approx. 2-3 hours).
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Simmer uncovered over low heat for 2 hours.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature before serving.
  • Freeze unused sauce and enjoy over and over!

    I am going to work with this base. I love the idea of the reduced watermelon. As you can tell by my name I like some heat. Great post!
