BBQ Tandoori Chicken

- 1 1/2 cup plain full fat yogurt shopping list
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon cumin powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon garam masala shopping list
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon coriander powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon turmeric powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon chili powder shopping list
- juice of 1 lemon shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic - crushed shopping list
- 1 inch piece of ginger grated shopping list
- Red food colouring shopping list
- 8 pieces of skinless chicken on the bone shopping list
- 1 lemon shopping list
- Optional: coriander leaves, slices of raw onion shopping list
How to make it
- Mix the spices, colouring, lemon juice and garlic and ginger up into a paste in a mortal and pestle with a little water and stir in well with the yogurt to make a tandoori marinade.
- Score the flesh of the chicken to the bone and marinate for 2-6 hours.
- Preheat your bbq to 425 degrees.
- Shake off excess marinade and place chicken directly over heat.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes and check the chicken is cooked by piercing the thickest piece with a skewer, if the juices run clear it's cooked, serve with a wedge of lemon, coriander and raw onion slices.
