Mincy Pie

- 200g salted butter shopping list
- 2 large shallots, finely chopped shopping list
- 3 large carrots finely chopped shopping list
- 1kg minced beef shopping list
- 200g sago shopping list
- 1 tbsp of garlic shopping list
- 2 tbsp crushed coriander seeds shopping list
- 3 tbs fresh thyme (keep leaves whole) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- phyllo pastry shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter in a pot (do not burn)
- add shallots and cook over low heat until soft and sweet
- add carrots and cook until slightly soft
- add mince and cook while mashing with a fork
- once mince is cooked and most of the lumps are out, add the garlic, thyme and coriander and cook
- add salt and pepper to taste and simmer over low heat
- add sago
- remember to add water if mixture becomes too dry
- line a pastry dish and add mixture
- cover with another layer of pastry
- sprinkle with some milk, using a brush cover the top layer of pastry with the milk
- place in a pre heated oven and bake until pastry turns golden brown
- enjoy
