Cherry Streusal

- For the topping shopping list
- 1 kg cherries shopping list
- 150 g butter shopping list
- 200 g flour shopping list
- 120 g sugar shopping list
- 1 pinch salt shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla or 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- For the dough shopping list
- 150 g soft butter shopping list
- 100 g sugar shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 1 pinch salt shopping list
- 375 g flour shopping list
- 3 Tbs baking powder shopping list
- 100 ml milk shopping list
How to make it
- Pit cherries and set aside
- For the streusal topping : heat the butter in a small saucepan until it melts.
- Add Flour, sugar and vanilla, mix salt and add to the melted butter, mix well.
- Set aside and let cool
- Preheat the oven to 200 ° C
- For the dough: mix butter and sugar well with an electric mixer
- Add eggs separately one at a time and then add Salt.
- Mix flour with baking powder adding alternately with the milk and stir in the softened butter .
- The dough will be somewhat thick and will drop slowly from a spoon
- Use a spatula dipped in water to spread out dough evenly in the pan ( large square baking pan )
- Place on Cherries evenly over the dough and spread the streusal crumbs over the dough
- Bake in middle oven rack about 20-30 and risen, browned and tested done
- When cool, cut into pieces and enjoy.
- Serve with ice cream, clotted or whipped cream if desired
