Dennys BBQ Pulled Pork

- 3 to 4 pounds pork shoulder roast shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chili powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon onion powder shopping list
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons pepper shopping list
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cumin shopping list
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar shopping list
- 2 red onions, thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1 cup beef stock shopping list
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke shopping list
- 2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce shopping list
- BBQ Sauce shopping list
- 4 cups ketchup shopping list
- 2 cup water shopping list
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoons kosher salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoons fresh ground black pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons onion powder shopping list
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder shopping list
- 2 tablespoons ground mustard shopping list
- juice and zest of 2 limes (3 if small) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce shopping list
How to make it
- Mix together the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and brown sugar.
- Rub the mixture all over the roast.
- Put the roast in the slow cooker and cover with the onions.
- In a bowl, mix the water, stock, liquid smoke, and worchestershire sauce.
- Pour over the roast.
- Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
- While pork is cooking, prepare the BBQ sauce.
- In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients.
- Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
- Cooked uncovered, stirring frequently, for 2 hours.
- Reserve 2 cups for the pork, the rest can be frozen for future use.
- Remove pork from the slow cooker and cool.
- Empty all liquid from slow cooker.
- Shred the pork and return it to the slow cooker.
- Stir in the 2 cups of BBQ sauce, and cook for another hour.
- Serve on rolls or buns.
