How to make it

  • Mix together the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and brown sugar.
  • Rub the mixture all over the roast.
  • Put the roast in the slow cooker and cover with the onions.
  • In a bowl, mix the water, stock, liquid smoke, and worchestershire sauce.
  • Pour over the roast.
  • Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
  • While pork is cooking, prepare the BBQ sauce.
  • In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients.
  • Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
  • Cooked uncovered, stirring frequently, for 2 hours.
  • Reserve 2 cups for the pork, the rest can be frozen for future use.
  • Remove pork from the slow cooker and cool.
  • Empty all liquid from slow cooker.
  • Shred the pork and return it to the slow cooker.
  • Stir in the 2 cups of BBQ sauce, and cook for another hour.
  • Serve on rolls or buns.
