Ingredients

How to make it

  • Set oven to Broil.
  • Dice bacon, cook thoroughly in a large frying pan. Drain, leave drippings in the pan.
  • Combine turkey, half of the bacon, bread crumbs, and salt & pepper.
  • Separate into 4 1/4 lb patties. Push the center of each in, to prevent them from turning into meatballs in the oven. (They'll expand a bit, if you don't do this step, they'll end up looking like the picture!)
  • Place patties on baking cookie rack on top of a baking sheet, put in oven. Check every 5 minutes, flipping each time, for an internal temperature of 165.
  • While they are broiling, dice or slice the onion and saute it in the bacon grease.
  • Toast buns, place burger patty on bun, add bacon-onions, cheese, extra bacon, and any other condiments you'd like. Enjoy!

Yeah, haha... some veggies probably would have complimented it well. Didn't have any at the time for the photo, unfortunately ;)

Honest described. For bacon lovers to be sure. Some lettuce would be nice and, as you start out with two pounds of meat, I reckon the burgers are going to be a tad bigger than 1/4 lb each, if you make just four. The bigger burger will be great. Thanks for the post. RJ
