How to make it

  • Boil your potatoes on the stovetop until almost done and you can poke your fork through.
  • Get a big sheet of tinfoil (I double mine) and grease the shiny side with margarine.
  • Cut your boiled potatoes into small chunks on top of the tinfoil and sprinkle with the Onion Soup Mix.
  • Add some dabs of margarine, maybe 3 tbsp. full over the potatoes and add a couple of tbsp. of water as well.
  • Fold up the tinfoil around the potatoes to make a little packet.
  • Put on the BBQ and heat 'til piping hot, maybe 10-15 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

Fantastic. Seems like you could cut a strip off the top, scoop out the meat of the potato and mix in the soup, butter etc and then stuff it back in? I must try it that way soon.

My husband loves to cook potatoes this way, but we haven't used the lipton soup mix. We will try this next time!
