How to make it

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and both of the sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time
  • Beat well after each addition
  • Beat in the almond extract
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt
  • Gradually add to the creamed mixture
  • Mix well
  • Stir in the chips and the cherries
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets
  • Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned
  • Remove to wire racks to cool

    i need to make these sugar free for my diabetic dad...how much splenda do i use?? also, i would like to add chopped pecans to the mix and omit the chips..any ideas? thanks

    A cookie that would be nice anytime...but when the theme of a presentation called for 'red' this cookie would be idealic to place forth.
    This is one cherry-of-a-cookie recipe.
