Louisiana Pecan Pie Recipe
This is Louisiana's version of the Pecan Pie....

Ingredients
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cane syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 9 inch unbaked pastry shell

Directions
  1. Beat eggs slightly.
  2. Add next 5 ingredients; mix well.
  3. Fold in pecans; pour into unbaked pastry shell.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees; bake for 40 minutes more.
  5. DO NOT OVERBAKE.
  6. If crust browns too much, cover top lightly with foil.

Those sneaky Louisiana people. They snuck over the Mississippi-Louisiana line and stole our famous Lumberton, MS pecans and this recipe also. Good stuff.
