Grandma Martins Pickled Beets

How to make it
- Wash the beets
- Cook them until they are fork-tender
- Wait until they are cool enough to touch and slip off the skin
- Slice beets
- Put them in a clean pot
- Cover them with 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water
- Add 1 to 2 tsp sugar
- Add salt (as much as you would add to that amount of potatoes)
- Add pepper and cinnamon
- Bring to a boil
- To keep them - put them in a jar while everything is hot
