Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

- 2 1/2 cups flour (I use pastry flour for a delicate texture) shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 cut butter (no substitutes) shopping list
- 1 cup chunky peanut butter shopping list
- 1 cup firmly brown sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 2 or 3 butterfinger candy bars, finely chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 375 F.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt
- In a mixer bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and 1 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla
- Add the finely chopped Butterfinger candy bars
- Gradually beat in the dry ingredients just until combined
- Shape tablespoonfuls of the dough into 1 inch balls.
- Roll in the 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- Place 3 inches apart on 2 ungreased cookie sheets
- With sugar coated tines of a fork, press and flatten each ball
- Make a criss-cross pattern
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden
- Cool on cookie sheets for about 3 minutes
- Transfer to wire racks to cool completely
