Classic Baked Acorn Squash

- 1 acorn squash shopping list
- 1 tablespoon butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Cut squash in half lengthwise from stem to end.
- Scoop out seeds and string in center of each half.
- Score insides of each half several times with a sharp knife.
- Place each half in a baking pan cut side up.
- Add 1/4" water to the bottom of the baking pan.
- Coat inside of each half with 1/2 tablespoon butter.
- Add a dash of salt and 1 tablespoon brown sugar to the cavity of each half.
- Dribble on a teaspoon of maple syrup to each half.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool slightly before serving.
- Spoon any buttery sugar sauce that has not already been absorbed by the squash over the exposed areas.
