Pound Cake Bars

- POUND cake BARS shopping list
- 1 cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 2 cups self-rising flour (I use White Lily) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel shopping list
- 1/3 cup lemon juice shopping list
- glaze shopping list
- 1 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening.
- In 3-quart saucepan, slowly melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining bar ingredients in order listed, mixing well after each addition. Spread batter in pan.
- Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until top is golden brown.
- Cool in pan on cooling rack 10 minutes.
- While bars are cooling, in small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over warm bars. Cool completely, about an hour. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 6 rows.
