Pumpkin Bread Divine

- 1-1/2 cups dark brown sugar (can use light brown) shopping list
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1 cup canned pumpkin shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ginger shopping list
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice shopping list
- 1/3 cup buttermilk shopping list
- glaze shopping list
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted shopping list
- About 1 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- A little orange juice shopping list
How to make it
- In bowl, cream sugar and butter (can be mixed by hand)
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition
- In another bowl, whisk together dry ingredients
- Add buttermilk with flour mixture alternately, starting with buttermilk
- When blended, pour into a greased, floured loaf pan
- Cook at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the middle, comes out clean
- Cool for about 10 minutes in pan
- Turn out, cool until just warm
- Spread glaze over entire loaf
- GLAZE
- In bowl, blend until smooth, melted butter, powdered sugar, just enough orange juice to make a glaze. May add freshly grated orange rind
