Homemade Amaretto

I got this recipe from this website: [http://recipes.robbiehaf.com/A/368.htm] and ended up making it for a buddy of mine for the holidays. From a non-drinker's standpoint, 4 cups of vodka is excessive. To a drinker it's merely sharp and strong. Read more We're trading gifts today so we'll see how well this goes over. See less
Ingredients
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 4 cups vodka- may be VERY strong, so if you're making it for a casual drinker, use only 3 cups. shopping list
- 1/4 cup almond extract shopping list
- 4 tsp. vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Dissolve sugars in water in a pan over medium heat.
- Heat until boiling and all sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Add vodka, almond extract, and vanilla.
- Store in a sealed decorative bottle or decanter.
