How to make it

  • In Dutch oven, saute onion,potato,celery and garlic in oil until tender. Stir in broth,beans,tomatoes,parsley and pesto. Bring to boil. Stir in pasta. Reduce heat;cover and simmer 10-15 mins. or till pasta is tender.
  • Add spinach and cook just till wilted. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.

    How did you know that I planned to make pasta e fagioli for tomorrow's dinner?! LOVE the additions of spinach & pesto, will definitely have to try that.

    This sound really good. I haven't had much experience with orzo pasta, but do you think barley might work in the soup in its place?
