How to make it

  • 1. Select the ingredients to use in this version of the salad. See Photo
  • 2. Set them out in appropriate containers in an attractive manner. See Photo
  • 3. Each person builds their own salad. See Photo
  • 4. Enjoy.
  • Things on the side or to go with the salad:
  • • Bread. Use a robust, rich Italian or French. I occasionally use Naan or Pita Bread for a change up.
  • • Oysters, clams, fish roe, pate.
  • • A bottle or two of decent grape stompings as a libation.

I think you should rename it - the superbowl salad. Reminds me of a nicoise w/ a whole lot more. Here in so cal, I luv Ralph's market. I run around the salad bar & pile everything in there. Luv hearts of palm, as well. Great healthy way to start the New Year.

ETA: Anorher of my favorite salads, is a pasta (agnolloti (sp)) salad, w/ chunks of mozzrella, diced tomatoes & onions & peas w/ vinaigrette dressing.
