Embellished Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

How to make it

  • In large bowl, combine strawberries with vinegar, lime juice, honey and alcohol and carefully toss/stir to distribute but not break up all the berries.
  • Let rest at room temperature about 1 hour or so, carefully stirring every 15-20 minutes.
  • Cut sheet of puff pastry into 6 pieces and arrange on baking sheet or stone, and bake as directed on package. Always make sure oven is preheated when baking puff pastry.
  • Cool slightly, then slice each piece in half, top bottom half with strawberries(use a slotted spoon, if desired) put the top on, and add more berries to the top.
  • Finish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of vanilla sugar, if desired.
