Ingredients

How to make it

  • Acutally i dont prefer to cook spinach or dill it looses its vitamins but this is tradional food n its light n easy to digest so i like it .... :P
  • In a cook pot add olive oil donot heat alot just add cummin seed n stir in for 2 sec then add finely chopped onions saute it for another 2 mins then add spinach ...cook for another 3 min in a while spinach will reduce into half just stir slowly upside down.... then add dill mix well ... a lovely aroma will start rising .... add rice salt n pepper stir well add water
  • lower the flame n cover to simmer it ... when rice cooked well just add lemon juice and mix it .....
  • Ready to serve with feta cheese ...
  • Tip : In this recipe u can just add one small finely chopped tomatoes... even spare mint or mint can be added for aroma .... some people use spring onion instead of onion but i prefer this way to cook
  • Adding lemon at the end keeps the tangy flavour of the juice or else it looses the flavour if add while cooking
  • i know its cooked in olive oil which i dont prefer but this is the recipe i have... :-)

I made this last week as a part of a Greek themed dinner and it was wonderful! I love all the ingredients so I knew it would be. I did leave out the cumin, because I forgot, though I intended to add ground cumin as you said that would work too. So, I'll add it next time. I used chicken stock in place of the water as I often do when cooking rice. Thanks for the lovely recipe, Monik!

I want to make this but I don't have cumin seeds - can I use ground cumin? If so, how much? Thanks!
