Savoury Spice N Herb Biscuits Recipe
A great go-with biscuit for soups, chili and stews. Try blending in your favourite grated cheese for a delicious variation.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley or cilantro
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp EACH dried dill and oregano
  • 1 tsp EACH caraway seeds and paprika
  • 1/2 tsp EACH crumbled dried sage, baking soda and salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp 10% cream

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. Combine flour, parsley, baking po;wder, dill, oregano, caraway seeds, paprika, sage, baking soda and salt in a food processor and pulse until well combined. Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Transfer mixture to a large bowl.
  3. (Alternatively, stir together dry ingredients in a large bowl; using a pastry blender, cut in butter.)
  4. Add buttermilk, stirring with a fork until just combined. With floured hands, gather dough together and knead gently into a ball.
  5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Handling dough as little as possible (to ensure tenderness), roll out into about 9" round and 1/2" thick. Cut into 12 wedges.
  6. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with cream.
  7. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden; cool on a wire rack.
